Our Story

Founded on a Simple Frustration.

Too many entrepreneurs grow alone. They make the same mistakes others have already solved, miss opportunities sitting one introduction away, and carry the weight of building a business with no one to turn to who truly understands it.

Amanah exists to end that isolation. The name means trust, and trust is the foundation everything here is built on. We are being established as a society under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act — not a casual network but a structured chamber where entrepreneurs learn from one another, grow through mentoring, and sharpen their skills through knowledge sharing and training.

We believe business growth and community upliftment are not competing priorities. They are inseparable. A stronger entrepreneur builds a stronger business, and a stronger business lifts everyone around it.

A Message from the Chairman

This Is What I Wished Existed When I Started Out.

I have spent years inside business forums and chambers, and I kept noticing the same gap.

Most of them serve one of two ends. Either the already arrived, the large and settled businesses who have long outgrown the need for help. Or the very smallest, the micro-enterprises just finding their feet. Both deserve support. But between them sits a business almost no one is built for: the enterprise that has crossed survival and reached somewhere between one and five crore in turnover, now facing a different set of problems entirely. Their challenges are not a large corporation's, and not a first-year startup's. Yet they are handed solutions borrowed from both, and neither fits.

Amanah exists for them.

I believe a business at this stage, given the right people, the right knowledge, and honest mentoring, can grow by a third every year. Compound that, and a business today becomes ten times its size by 2035. That is not a slogan. It is a plan, and it is why this chamber is built around real capability, not just connections.

There is a second reason, closer to my heart. There are communities with a proud history of enterprise who, over the last two decades, have stepped back from it. I want Amanah to be part of their return, by reaching young people early, in college and at the start of their careers, through mentorship and real exposure to business, so the next generation inherits confidence, not hesitation.

This is what I wished existed when I started out. So we are building it.

Amanah is led by a founding team of entrepreneurs and professionals who are building the chamber they wished they had when they started.

Founder & Chairman

Khalid Mohamed is a serial entrepreneur who leads a group of companies spanning building automation, digital technology, early-stage investment, and architectural solutions, including Eterna Building Automation Pvt Ltd, Eterna Digitech Solutions Pvt Ltd, Zaryah Angels Pvt Ltd, and ArchEase Solutions Pvt Ltd. Beyond business, he serves in leadership roles across educational and community institutions, among them IKLAS IAS Academy, Darul IKLAS Siddeeqiyya Arabic College, and the MEASI Group of Institutions.

He founded Amanah Business Chamber out of a conviction that businesses between one and five crore in turnover deserve a chamber built for them, and that a community grounded in trust can grow its members tenfold by 2035. As Chairman, he leads the chamber's vision, its governance, and its commitment to mentorship, knowledge, and the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Mohamed Sukri

Vice Chairman

Mohamed Sukri is the Business Head of Gem Money Changers Pvt. Ltd., a Chennai-based foreign exchange company offering currency buying and selling, forex travel cards, Western Union, MoneyGram, and domestic transfers. With years of experience in the forex industry, he has built a reputation for reliable service, customer trust, and prompt handling of exchange needs. The company is known for its doorstep service and professional approach, operating from T Nagar, Chennai. At Amanah, Mohamed Sukri brings financial sector experience, a strong network, and a commitment to building businesses grounded in integrity and customer value.

Shagul Nizamuddin

General Secretary

Shagul Nizamudeen is an architect and the Founder of ISRA Designs and Infratech, an award-winning architecture and interior design firm with studios in Chennai and Bangalore. Since founding the company in 2013, he has led projects across residential, commercial, institutional, and infrastructure sectors, combining contemporary design thinking with practical execution. His work spans architecture, interiors, housing, and turnkey design solutions, with a reputation for creative, functional, and technology-driven delivery. At Amanah, he brings design leadership, entrepreneurial depth, and a track record of building a respected practice from the ground up.

Syed Arif

Joint Secretary

Syed Arif is the Chairman and Managing Director of Mercy Group of Companies, a Chennai-based diversified business group founded in 2016. Over a decade, he has guided the group across infrastructure, real estate, information technology, tourism, and food and restaurants. His leadership reflects practical entrepreneurship and a long-term approach to building operations across multiple service and project-driven industries. At Amanah, Arif brings cross-sector business experience, administrative depth, and the perspective of someone who has built and scaled a multi-vertical group from inception.

Imtiaz Ahamed

Treasurer

Imtiaz Ahamed is the Proprietor of Hi-TECH Solutions, a Chennai-based IT hardware sales and service company he founded in 2006. The company specialises in chip-level repair and advanced diagnostics for laptops, desktops, and Apple devices, including MacBook, iMac, iPhone, and iPad, serving individuals, businesses, and institutions across the city. He holds qualifications in law and arts, and brings nearly two decades of business experience to his role as Treasurer of Amanah Business Chamber. Beyond business, Imtiaz has been deeply involved in community welfare for over eight years, contributing to flood relief, medical assistance programmes, and COVID-19 ground support. He serves as Treasurer and Legal Advisor of the Islamiya Karunai Ullam Trust, and has donated blood 54 times.

AR Shafiq Mohammed

Joint Treasurer

AR Shafiq Mohammed is an architect with Al Hayy Architects, Chennai, working in the architecture and planning industry. A graduate of Hindustan University, Chennai, his practice is built on AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Photoshop, and on the design eye that architectural work demands. As Joint Treasurer of Amanah Business Chamber he helps hold the chamber's finances and its accountability to members.

Mahmath AbulKalamAzad

Director – Relations

Mahmath AbulKalamAzad is Partner and CEO of D-Cube Designs, a Chennai-based industrial design and product development company that takes ideas from early-stage concept and industrial design through mechanical engineering, prototyping, and design for manufacturing. He works with startups, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and established businesses to develop products that balance user experience, engineering feasibility, manufacturability, cost, and commercial value, with a particular interest in Make-in-India product development and building globally competitive products from India. As Director of Relations at Amanah Business Chamber, he helps connect members with one another and with the chamber's wider network of partners.
